The Franciscan Friars of Holy Name Province are men who choose to live a simple lifestyle in community. Ours is a life of prayer and service to the Church and the world, modeled on the life of St. Francis of Assisi. We take vows of poverty, celibate chastity, and obedience.
With more than 200 men serving the people of God in a wide variety of settings — colleges, parishes, urban ministry centers and diverse ministries along the East Coast as well as in overseas missions — we are the largest of seven provinces in the United States belonging to the Order of Friars Minor.
For an up-close look at a friar’s life, check out this exciting new video series, “A Friar Life,” in which Br. Casey Cole, OFM explores the many vocations, ministries, and lives of the friars of Holy Name Province!
